PRIVACY POLICY STATEMENT
This
privacy policy statement applies to the PIB's Computer and Network Services
either owned and operated by or through facilities of a third party authorized
by the Company.
By
using or accessing the PIB's Computer and Network Services the user shall be
deemed to have accepted this Privacy Policy Statement ("this
Statement"). If the User do not accept this Statement, please immediately
discontinue access and/or use of the PIB's Network Service.
The
Company reserves the right to make changes to this Statement at any time
subject however to the Company having given the User notice. By the User's
continued use or access of PIB's Network Services and the user shall be deemed
to have agreed to and accepted the changes in this Statement. The Users are
advised to periodically review this Statement for any changes.
In
addition to this Statement, specific privacy provisions may apply to certain
sections of the PIB's Computer and Network Services. These specific privacy
provisions must be read together with this Statement. In the event of any
inconsistency between this Statement and the specific provisions, the specific
provisions shall prevail.
For
the purposes herein, all words and expressions shall have the same meaning as
in the Terms and Conditions specified for all network transactions, except
where otherwise expressly stated.
1.1 Collection
of Personal Information
The PIB's Network Service is committed to ensuring the privacy of
its users. The information we collected about the User will depend on how the
User uses the facilities and features on the PIB's Network Service.
When the User uses the PIB's Network Service, the information
collected will generally include the
User Login ID, Password, personally identifiable information, contact details
and identification numbers. This information is necessary for the Company to
provide the service the User applied for. Personal information provided by the
User upon application for the use of PIB's Network Service shall be used to
enroll the User for other services provided by the company from time to time.
1.2 Use
and Disclosure of Information
Personal
information supplied by the User through the PIB's Network Service may be used
in providing the Company's services. The Company may also use the User's
personal information to market Company Group's products and services.
The
Company will not use or disclose information collected about the User,
including information collected using cookies, other than for the purpose made
known to the User, a purpose the User would reasonably expect, a purpose
required, authorized or permitted by or under law, or a purpose otherwise authorized
by the User.
The
User agrees that the Company shall not disclose the User's personal information
unless the following circumstances apply:

for the purpose of processing
the User's Instruction(s) given through the PIB's Network Service;
ˇ
when cross selling and cross
servicing the products and/or services of Company; and/or to any third party
service providers, contractors, agents who provide administrative,
telecommunication, computer payment or securities clearing or other services to
the Company in connection with the operation of its business. In such cases,
the Company will require that such persons undertake to keep the User's
information confidential.
Although
the Company uses reasonable efforts to ensure that third parties keep the
User's information confidential, please be informed that the Company has no
control over these third parties, who may or may not further disclose
information to other parties and there can be no assurances that such parties
will not solicit the User via e-mail or otherwise.
Demographic
or statistical information collated from any information provided by the User
upon the User's use of the PIB's Network Service may be divulged to any third
party. Such demographic or statistical information shall be in the form of a
summary or compilation of information which is not personally identifiable.
If the
User do not wish to be solicited for products or services offered by Company,
please indicate accordingly when requested.
1.3 Information
Security
The
User is responsible for maintaining the secrecy of the User's Login ID and
Password for the Progressive Insurance Network Services. The Company will not
be able to secure the User's information if the User reveals the User's Login
ID and Password to anyone. The Company's personnel are not authorized to ask
the User for their Password.
The
Company applies stringent procedures to ensure that only a limited number of authorized
personnel within the organisation will have direct access to the User's
personal data. Transmission of data during login, registration and personal
information update between the browser and server in the PIB's Network Services
is encrypted using the proven 128-bit Secure Socket Layer ("SSL")
technology.
All of
the User's personal data collected from the network Service is stored in
secured repositories in our secured data centre. Only authorized personnel have
physical access to the data repositories in limited circumstances and they are
prohibited from making any unauthorized disclosure of the User's personal data.
Backups are performed to ensure that the User's personal information is safe
against system failures. These backups are stored in a secured location.
The
Company takes great care to ensure that the Network Services is safe and
secure, however please be informed that no data transmission over the Internet
can be guaranteed as fully secure. As such, the Company cannot guarantee or
warrant the security of any information the User send to the Company through
the Network Service. The User submits information at the User's own risk. Once
the Company receives the User's information, the Company will take all
reasonable steps to protect the data held in its system.
1.4
The User's access to their Personal Information
The
Company regards confidentiality and privacy of the User's information of
paramount importance. Upon request, the Company may provide the User access to
the personal information the Company holds about the User. However, it is limited
to the User's address, occupation, age, sex, martial status, accounts with the
Company and the balances and statements relating to those accounts. The User
can also inform the Company in writing of any changes or errors in the User's
personal information and the Company will update its records or correct any
errors as soon as possible to ensure accuracy and completeness of the User's
personal information.
1.5 Use of
Cookies
The
PIB's Network Service may send the User a "cookie". A cookie is a
package of data that allows our server to identify and interact more
effectively with the User's computer without identifying the individual users.
Most current browser programs can be configured to refuse, reject or delete
such cookies.
1.6 Links to Other Sites
The
PIB's Network Service may be linked to other web sites but the Company is not
responsible for the privacy practices or the contents of these linked sites.

security, confidentiality and convenience when delivering our insurance and
related financial products and services to the User either directly or through
electronic means.
As
our registered and approved user, the User now has access to Network Services
which makes it easier and more convenient to undertake insurance related
transactions. With the convenience of the new and effective delivery channel
via the Internet, we shall be able to deliver our services more effectively in
terms of speed, reliability and quality. The security of our internet
transactions is foremost in our commitment to the User.
We
